August 2008 Visa Bulletin Released

The Department of State has released its August 2008 Visa Bulletin, which indicates when a green card applicant may file for the last stage in the application process (adjustment of status or immigrant visa processing). See Immigrant Numerical Limitations.

The cut-off date in the EB-2 category for individuals born in India and China jumped up 2 years. July's Visa Bulletin had cutoff dates of April 2004 for this category. Immigrant visa numbers are now available for EB-2 applicants born in India or China who have priority dates earlier than June 1, 2006.  

The EB-3 category (for skilled workers and professionals) will continue to remain unavaiable until October 2008.
