1. Marriages less than Two Years Old.
If the marriage occurred less than two (2) years prior to the foreign citizen’s adjustment of status or admission to the U.S. with an immigrant visa, the foreign citizen will receive a green card on a conditional basis with a two year validity period.
The “conditional resident” must seek removal of the conditional basis before the second anniversary of the date on which he or she immigrated or adjusted status.
