Change of Status to TN - Applying at Border.

• A Canadian citizen already in the U.S. under a different nonimmigrant category may request a change to TN status by departing the U.S. and applying for TN classification directly upon re-entry.

• This application should be prepared in the same fashion as if it were an application for initial TN status. See Application for NAFTA TN Status.

• Spouses and children of the TN Professional may accompany the TN Professional or follow-to-join the TN Professional in the same manner as an initial TN application.

• The filing fees for an application for TN status is $50.00, plus an additional charge of $6.00 at land border Ports of Entry (“POE”) to process each admission document (Form I-94).
